Coatings and Fluid Applied Surfaces

Seamless Flooring Solutions

The Beauty of Decorative Floor Coatings

Decorative floor coatings, or fluid-applied surfaces, are
durable and customizable flooring systems that are poured on-site in a liquid
state. They cure to form a high-strength, seamless surface that can be
customized with various decorative elements. These systems are widely used in
commercial, industrial, and residential settings for their performance and
aesthetic benefits. Many of these systems can even be applied over wood
floors or directly on top of tile.

Types of fluid-applied flooring systems

  • Epoxy/Urethane/Polyaspartic: Popular, durable, and hard resin coatings that are extremely resistant to impacts, abrasions, and chemicals. Epoxy flooring can add decorative finishes with unlimited color options, including clear, solid colors or decorative quartz/flakes.
  • Urethane Cement: Thicker, more moisture tolerant than epoxy, and highly resistant to thermal shock. These floors are ideal for commercial kitchens, laboratories and processing facilities.
  • Metallic Epoxy: A specialized fluid-applied system where metallic pigments are swirled into the epoxy to create a unique, three-dimensional, and one-of-a-kind design.

Decorative options for fluid-applied surfaces

  • Broadcast Flakes: Colored vinyl or plastic flakes are broadcast over a base coat to provide a speckled, multi-colored look and increased slip resistance.
  • Metallic Pigments: Used to create a unique, shimmering, and often swirling, multi-tonal finish.
  • Quartz Aggregate: Colored quartz sand is broadcast into the coating to create a textured, highly durable, and slip-resistant surface.
  • Custom Graphics and Logos: Seamless coatings can incorporate custom logos or design elements directly into the floor surface, providing a striking and personalized finish.
